The
course at The Warragul Country Club is comprised of 2 Par 5's,
13 Par 4's, and 3 Par 3's, and has two contrasting nines.
The front nine is tight and hilly, with three holes featuring "out
of bounds" on the left.
Holes 1 and 2 are the hardest rated holes on the course, and you
can make or break your round at the start.
At the least, you know that it only gets easier from there in!
A spring-fed pond between the third and fourth holes has swallowed
many balls -
but it takes a rather poor tee shot to get your ball wet.
The back nine is completely different, and is
relatively flat and open.
Beginning with the easy tenth hole, previously the old first, the
course then opens out
allowing the player to "lay the ears back and have a go."
Several greens on the back are deceiving,
the slopes can be greater than expected when approaching the
pin.
