TEAM BRINGS INSTANT RESULTS FOR COUNTRY CLUB |

At a time when most Golf Clubs are struggling to retain golf members, The Warragul Country Club is defying the trend with a 10% increase in full golf membership to date this year. With sales in the Bar and the Fairways Bistro at record levels for the Club, the Club has re- invested in golf course improvements, new golf machinery and increasing golf course staff levels to get much improved results on the golf course. The Club recently appointed new Golf Course Superintendant, Nathan Eager, bringing a wealth of experience to the Warragul team, after working for many years for leading golf course company, Mike Clayton Golf Design. Nathan has rolled his sleeves up and got straight to the task, with many new ideas and improvements being well received by members. Adding to the new team is PGA Golf Professional, Daniel Hyndman. Daniel took over the Pro Shop from retiring, long term Golf Professional, John Toyne on July 1st. Many years of golf tuition experience at Rosebud Country Club, extensive golf product knowledge, and a friendly 'can do' attitude makes Daniel a great addition to the Country Club team. |

"Being a not for profit community club, our club uses all profits generated by the club to continue to improve the golf course and club facilities for the local community. The growing membership base is very pleasing and is a result of continued investment in the golf operations and hard work by Nathan and his golf course team. Nathan has done an outstanding job, since his appointment by the Board, and Daniel Hyndman is driving the push for increased social golf and golf clinic tuition. It is a very exciting time to be invloved in golf at the club" says General Manager, Michael Smairl. "The club now offers golfers a good golf course, with the best clubhouse facilities in the region". After recent renovations at the club, the Warragul Country Club generated over $1.8 million in turnover last financial year in the bar and the Fairways Bistro, arguably the busiest bistro/ restaurant in Warragul.
